Though we live within walking distance of the elementary school (if you consider how far I had to walk to the Nephi Elementary & Concord-Ayers Elementary just about any school is within walking distance...and in Nephi it was "close" enough to walk home on a broken foot-my mom remembers that one) Eva, Amariah, Tristan and Jonathan all walked to the bus stop and sent Amariah on her way.
There were a few tears shed...mainly because of Tristan's reaction.
While Amariah was standing in line to get on the bus, Tristan began to beg "Bus, bus, please?"
Once Amariah has boarded and the doors closed "Budgie?" (we think this is his way of saying buddy or brother-he's two and doesn't quite understand the difference between sister and brother).
Then the bus pulled away "Budgie, Budgie gone..." Eva then asked Tristan if he was going to cry. He dropped his chin to his chest, closed his eyes and frowned. Eva called it a 'heart string' moment-apparently so did some of the other mothers at the bus stop, cause they wanted to hold him and comfort him etc...
When Amariah came home he ran out, hugged her and said "Budgie, Budgie back!"
Little kids...
